Inaccessible? Unacceptable! Challenge accepted.

Cemeteries are inaccessible to those with walkers, wheelchairs, balance challenges and low stamina. So for those who experience these challenges, they don't get to visit and enjoy the cemeteries. So...what are you going to do about it, Shannon?

My favorite place in the world is a cemetery. There’s nothing like it. Each cemetery is unique and they all have their story to tell. No other museum can give you what a cemetery can provide. There’s art.  History. Genealogy. Stories. Trees. (I’m not too keen on that last one but I hear some people enjoy them). The serenity in a cemetery cannot be found elsewhere. This is the passion that drives me. But what about the people who love the cemeteries but can’t walk through them? Does that mean they just don’t get to enjoy them?

Heck no it doesn’t! Not if I have anything to say about it. So on my to-do list (which is a monster) I have added “develop handicap accessible virtual tours”.  I can’t make a cemetery wheelchair accessible, but I sure can bring the experience of a guided cemetery tour inside. It won’t be quite the same, as there will be no walking through those memorial gardens (I’m not bringing any trees with me), but I’ll do my very best to translate the event to an indoor venue.

If you have suggestions that won’t break my bank for a professional videographer and/or space rental with technical amenities - a projector with the ability to access a PowerPoint presentation - I’m open to suggestions and appreciative of any ideas.
